We manufacture the most sensitive and selective On-Line wear debris sensors available today. It is accepted fact that an increase in trace wear metals will indicate a fault condition many hours before the same fault can be detected by vibration analysis.

  • In one instance, a Parker Kittiwake Metallic Wear Debris Sensor indicated failure in a large wind turbine gearbox following very high wind conditions some seven weeks before the same fault became evident on permanently installed VA accelerometer based CM system. 

Ferrous Wear Debris SensorFerrous Wear Debris Sensor
Detects total ferrous particle contamination irrespective of particle size with an amazing sensitivity of <1 micron Fe. Excellent for detecting abrasive wear particles where other products are insensitive to such small particle sizes. Many hundreds of these sensors are in use at sea on scrapedown oil from two stroke marine engines in feed rate optimisation programmes and as a safeguard against scuffing. Approved for use on ExxonMobil cylinder oils and MAN B&W (letter of no objection) marine engines. See also LinerSCAN systems (below) that use this sensor design.

Specifically developed for Oil & Gas OEM applications. Suitable for use on Top Drive, Mud Pump and Drawwork applications providing an On-Line indication and quantification of potential problems 24/7. Suitable for use in some of the world's harshest production and exploration environments.

LinerSCAN - Cylinder Liner MonitorLinerSCAN
A product unique to Parker Kittiwake, developed in close co-operation with ExxonMobil Marine Lubricants. LinerSCAN monitors the real time iron content in 2 stroke marine engine scavenge oil in a typical range of 0-2500 ppm, with good low range sensitivity. Designed for easy installation and with remote date logging, reporting and alarm functions. Cylinder oil feed rate can be optimised for liner life and scuffing detected within seconds allowing corrective action before wear becomes critical. This system can also provide early indication of damage caused by high Cat Fines fuel.
